Who would have won if Sasuke and Neji had fought instead of their opponents?

Without plot shields.

Sasuke. He had sharingan and had already copied Lee's taijutsu with it. Besides that, he's a genius. Sharingan > byakugan.

That was my answer, Sharingan is superior to Byakugan, even if the Sharingan was derived from the Byakugan that means it was evolution, the occular jutsu was improved.

Can't beat simple logic and the use of the ninja in question's trump card.

Sasuke lost to Lee. However compared to Lee at the time, Neji was far more superior. I know the A<B, B<C, then A<C logic doesn't work in the narutoverse but Neji was trolled like crazy. Sasuke copying Neji wouldn't be too useful mostly because he can't see the chakra pathway system with his sharingan. I think Neji shuts down Sasuke's chakra and the fight is over.

Sasuke would have defeated Neji, his occular powers were more advanced, it would be a match of natural born geniuses though.

Idk,Sasuke could predict/see when Neji will use rotation, and could keep u with his fighting style due to his mimicking Lee's taijutsu but Neji would probably stop his chakra flow and Lee's taijutsu isn't enough to handle full on Neji////I say it'd be a tie

both have lethal attacks: chidori, palm to the chest
neji can lock down chakra while sasuke can use lee's copied speed
Neji will kill sasuke in hand to hand; sasuke uses taijutsu more with speed
neji would win unless sasuke unlocked his cursed seal xd

With the Sharingan Sasuke can predict movements and evade attacks as seen when he fought Orochimaru a highly skilled ninja even though he was toying with him for a bit.

Sasuke's techs can be blocked by Rotation.

We know that even Lee's Taijutsu was nothing to Neji, so Sasuke's slower version would've never worked.

Sasuke's only tech that would kill someone would've been Chidori, and Rotation would fodderize Sasuke.

Sasuke wouldn't have a chance against the number one rookie.

There's no way Sasuke would win at the Chuunin Exams at that point. Sasuke had Lion Combo, Great Fireball, Chidori, pretty smooth taijutsu skills, and two-tomoe Sharingan. Neji had Jyuuken, 8-Trigram Rotation, 64-palm attack, and his Byakugan watching him do everything.

Every taijutsu battle would be very stressful for Sasuke, as any blow delivered to him would damage his chakra network. With his chakra, he wouldn't be able to spam Great Fireball every time, and even this is under scrutiny as we don't know exactly how 8-Trigram Rotation would handle it.

Being under the aid of his Curse Mark is out of the question, as he himself wanted to suppress it at any point that it would awaken, and the Jounin were keeping an eye on him--any time that the Curse Mark would awaken would mean the match would end abruptly.

His two-tomoe Sharingan may be able to see Neji's 64-palm attack, but it does not mean he can dodge it. One devastating blow for Sasuke would spell KO for his chakra network, and his inability to continue. Naruto won his fight against Neji, because he circumvented the loss of his chakra network with Kyubi chakra and defeated Neji while he was tired. Sasuke doesn't have a second chakra source.

What a match it would have been. Two geniuses.Well,in close combat,Neji would block Sasuke's chakra but then you have Sasuke's speed and the sharingan. They both could beat each other, though I am leaning towards Neji in this specific fight.

He still had 2-tomoe Sharingan. He saw Lee's movements when they fought, he just couldn't dodge them. This is why he was able to invent his Lion Combo--watching Lee perform Secondary-Lotus.

Are you stupid?
Neji is superior in taijutsu and can use Rotation to block Sasuke's Katon.
With the Gentle Fist, Neji would stop Sasuke from building up chakra.

Neji > Lee.
Lee's Taijutsu > Sasuke's copied version of Lee.
Neji > Lee > Sasuke.

Neji was the strongest Genin in part 1.
He wasn't talked about much 'cause Guy held them up a year and started to train them away from the crowd.

I just said that at the bottom paragraph. He could watch Neji's movements, but this does not necessarily mean he could dodge them. Even blocking Neji's attacks is an edgy strategy, because there's no blocking when it comes to Jyuken.

So why did Sasuke say that he can see clearly when Orochimaru charged at him.
