Well Orochimaru wanted to take control of a Uchiha body. His 1st target was Itachi but Orochimaru was no match for him so he moved on two his 2nd target Sasuke Uchiha. If he took control of Sasuke's body im pretty sure he would beat Itachi so he would be a force to be reckoned with. There's just no telling how powerful Orochimaru would become (unstoppable comes to my mind).

Well he'd definitely live longer thus giving him more time to experiment with more forbidden jutsu, since he'd be in a younger body. The sharingan would help aid in mastering all jutsu, so I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up becoming top 10 material.
