Exactly. That's actually an interesting conclusion. And instead of Gaiden we get to see the things Naruto learned in his journey; with a new perspective and a new mindset –at least it would be way better than a nonsensical mommy drama. U_U
The whole next gen crap is so pointless. The series isn't even entertaining at face value to me anymore; No adventures, no fun, no comedy, no humor, plot mostly lacks tension, relationships lack interaction and substance, world building lacks imagination, characterization and dynamics lack charm and diversity. Not to mention Kishimoto sucks as a politician and philosopher, big time. In all honesty? I think Kishimoto is well-aware that his target audience compose mostly of teenagers, thus, making his propaganda look more sympathetic and forgiving. Go Nagai's Devilman has the same target audience as Naruto. Hunter x Hunter has the exact same audience. But unlike Kishimoto, Go Nagai and Yoshihiro Togashi did actually succeed in talking about grey morality, genocide, family obligations, political corruption, mafia, historical juxtaposition, human hypocrisy and cruelty.
