A pacifist is someone who doesn't like fighting.. By that theme , killing for a pacifist would be something they would hate to do.. Tobi said he grew up during the third great ninja war and saw many deaths and people killed infront his eyes.. that's what caused his pacifistic nature in the first place

DO you mean if he wasnt a pacifist or do you mean if he wasnt terminally ill?

Eitherway he wouldnt be that much stronger, possible more of a badass, but not that much stronger.

He mainly uess genjtusu because you can incapacitate the opponent without bloodshed, which is something he dislikes
A Itachi with no qualms about killing a man in cold blood would be using his jutsu etc to kill , rather than just trap and end the match
Itachi's only opponents have been Leaf Ninja. Itachi still had pride of being a Leaf Ninja. That alone would keep him from killing another member of the Leaf or hurting the village.

His little stand off with Kisame. He had prepared his MS.

Again with Kabuto. He was going in to kill Kabuto, until he told him the downside of Edo Tensei. During the fight Itachi realized him and Kabuto was alike in many ways which caused him to use Izanagi.

Did he say he was going to kill kabuto?
He prepared MS because an a criminal who gained entrance to an S rank organization just threatened him.. He has 0 knowledge of his abilities

I don't think some of you understand what is meant when we talk about itachi's prinicples and ideals, about him being a pacifist. Although he kills and fights, the fact that he would rather refrain from fighting and avoid war makes him, relatively speaking, a pacifist. He is a victim of his situation. Him being born a shinobi and an uchiha already shows an innate and definitive precedent for violence.

And yet in a shinobis relative sense he is a pacifist.

He was completely willing to let Kisame kill Asuma, Kurenai and Kakashi. Luckily for them, Gai showed up just in time.

I was still hoping that would be explained, but it never has. Itachi taking out 3(or letting Kisame do it, however you wanna phrase it) of Konoha's jounin right after they've lost their hokage? Might as well just destroy the village.

He was never powerful to began with, and it would have changed anything.

Its funny how your signature attacks itachi's abilities and here you are bashing and underestimating itachi's abilities. keeping it real right? Lol like im a fan boy you're hater. Say something more productive for the thread. You make no sense.

The real reason Itachi went to the village was to make sure that Danzo recognize that Itachi was still alive, and that the death of the 3rd didn't void the protection that the 3rd offered for Sasuke. On top of that, he also wanted to pay tribute to the 3rd. Kisame was also questioning itachi because he wasnt acting normal. Itachi was emphasizing his fatigue to make sure that Kisame wouldnt recognize itachis true motives. Btw this is just my speculation but i believe that itachi could have killed kakashi with the tsukyomi, but itachi being who he is decided not to.

god i hope not. youd think genocide is enough for someone

then why did he open the fight with tsukiyomi which puts most in a coma? he was trying, and he was trying hard

Like I said he was a victim of his situation. Had he not committed genocide war and even more death would have proceeded, and probably the weakening of the village which, most likely could have proceeded with other countries taking the advantage to attack konoha at a time of civil war. Logically he did what he believed was right and avoided all out war which if you havent seen normally brings loses to both sides especially the losing end. itachi was intelligent and i assume knew very well about politics as the third stated that he had the mind of a hokage at such a tender age. Now if we look at your statement about tsukyomi, tsukyomi was his most powerful jutsu which could easily disable any shinobi caught in it, basically a one shot, we can safely assume that itachi liked to end battles quickly. He really wasn't the type that liked to fight as stated by the 3 that said he was a pacifist.

Of course he could have killed him with it. He wasn't going to have them killed until Kakashi told him he knew why he and Kisame/Akatsuki were in the village. He then ordered Kisame to kill all 3 of them. He wasn't aware that Gai was on the way, either, as he was just as surprised as Kisame when Gai arrived:

He was a spy for the akatsuki. He probably was caught up in the moment.

Remember Kakashi saying "Why didn't he just kill me?"

Kakashi told them about the organization, when they were actually a secret organization back then. Then Itachi order Kisame to take them out. I guess it would have been a bit suspicious if he didn't attempt to kill them.
