[Discussion] What if it was Garp instead of Akainu?

What if the one who Shanks' blocked was a "prime Garp" instead of Akainu?
What you think would've happened?

a. Shanks now has a broken sword.
b. The same as Akainu.
c. Broken fist.

logic wise, Shanks didnt use the sharp side, rather the long, blunt side which thus means that Shanks loses another arm

Prime Garp was on rogers, Whitebeard level so idk. Shanks probably also based his fighting style on haki which roger probably did as well. Eh idk...

Imo shanks would stop the punch but he would be skidding back from the force of the punch and the sword wouldn't break.

edit: actually if it's prime garp then shanks probably would of did things different. You gotta remember that he blocked Akainu's killing intent punch with the side of his blade...If it was Garp swinging with a haki punch then i'm certain that shanks would use the sharp side of his blade instead and haki it up.

I'm pretty sure Garp's Haki would prevent him from being cut by the sharp side. I'm also pretty sure defending with the flat side offers more support against something like a punch than the sharp side.

Hasn't really been suggested ... Hes only been compared to his fellow yonko Mihawk and after him and akainu clashed akainu as well Rodger was hailed to be the strongest with only prime whitebeard and prime garp to rival him ... So yeah I mean if they would be compared perhaps but at the moment no... Also shanks is past his prime he's getting older and lost 1 arm u think he can rival healthy Prime harp:?

Garp distorted Chinjao'shead and Luffy distorted it again, i think we can evaluate the power level of Garp from that, and know that Shanks is above him

Don't be silly. The outcome would have been roughly the same. Besides the punch wasn't even done with a full-on killing intent. It's coby we are talking about. It's just a casual, yet fodder deadly punch. It would just be blocked.

Now if we are talking about a full power Haki infused fist by either Garp or Akainu, then it's wise for Shanks to not try and block it the way he did at Marineford. He will either use Haki, dodge it, or block it Marineford-style and get sent flying away.

What do u mean? Admirals are in their 50's, they are and still kicking asses in NW and you think Shanks getting past his prime? not sure if serious. For all we know he's the youngest top tier in OP(Hope I didn't forgot anyone). Mihawk,Admirals, Kaido(Most likely), BM, Dragon,BB and even Joker is older than Shanks.
