Well if you think about it, it's not so different than it is now. Right now a nuclear power can take out a contenient within hours( hundreds of nukes creating fallout and deadly radiation that spreads by wind).

If we had that sort of power, there would still be a nuclear deterrent.

but still, if such weapons are used (which i greatly doubt) there would be a mass destruction and the destruction due to the blast itself will not be that devastating as its after-effecrts. Although, i honestly doubt that they may happen. us humans, however twisted and ****ed up, have always used atleast a part of our senses when faced with complete nad utter extermination. I mean, its when we are pushed up against a wall, the true nature of humanity comes into the fray. Except during those times, we can eternally speculate on the means of warfare, destruction, etc. I honestly feel mass destruction of anything bigger than small towns due to man-made means other than global warming is not possible, at least for the near future.

Usually even a high tier nuke attack is no more then a city level or possibly higher, nukes are usually ranging from above town level to outright city busting. Even taking out a large country can produce minor worldwide after effects. But even so, such destructive power would be kept classified from public, since it might cause panics around the globe lol.....it'd be terrifieing if someone just tells u "oh hey dude, we got life wiping destructive power, if we want, we can destroy all fukin life on the globe with a single full scale attack!" lol, hate to be the bearer of bad news mate...xD

Destroying a continent is AN EXTEMELY HIGH scale attack, to be able to completely eradicate a content from the globe instantly requires at least 40 exatons of yield on base level....which is damn fukin high. lol to be able to generate such destructive energy is devastating. : (

The after effects from a conitnents attack is initially a life wiper, If such level of attack Is launched, it's extinction, unless they can figure out a way to escape/shield themselves from the hot micro debris, thunderstorms caused by the after effects.

When I'm referring to as "city tiers" I'm referring a nuke that can carry at least 2 or more megatons worth of destructive energy. And have an AOE of a city like Karachi, New York and many other. It's the best way to quantify the AOE when ur labelling the attack as ...town level, city level, country level .......regarding AOE ...
