Sakura would have worked just fine as a part of team 7 if Kishi wrote her the way he should have. Which he didn't.

Sakura wasn't pulling her weight on the missions, is how I read these scans. Sakura even says that Naruto and Sasuke are ahead of her at least twice in the manga.
