If that were the case, it would rather be that they failed to escape IT than your suggestion. Which would be the best plot twist ever, because it would erase that whole effing Kaguya-fight.

What if it turns out that this is just Sarada's hallucinations because she is growing up and this is just a phase, I mean she has a lot of weight being the only kid of the only uchiha alive plus her father's never around much and being an uchiha she should be emotional and all, seems plausible to me- though it will never happen.
