That's a good point, the world was under the IT once before during Kaguya's time, yet it was broken as well.

If the Sage broke it (which is the only logical conclusion) then clearly everyone was happy because they worshipped him like a god.

That's not what Itachi meant, he didn't say pretend to live in a dream and everything is real as long as you believe it, he was talking about lying to someone to manipulate them.

If that was what Itachi meant he would be supporting the IT not trying to stop it.

What's happening is very different, they are all trapped in cocoons and pretending that dreams are real, that's like locking yourself in your room and pretending your dreams are real, its childish and immature.

Also it denies progress, people live and grow from the problems in the world, if everyone was busy dreaming then no progress would be made, technology, new life from babies, and new ideas being born, everything will be trapped at a stand still.

Hopefully most of the SA are mature enough to realize that dreams aren't reality.

Dreams are not the same as pretending. Here is the difference: If I pretend that I am on a roller coaster then I won't actually be able to feel myself riding down the track. In a dream (especially a genjutsu), you can actually feel things with your senses and emotions. If it was just pretending, then it wouldn't have mattered to Kakashi when he got stabbed for 3 days straight inside of Itachi's tsukuyomi.

Pretending doesn't make physical manifestations of things. Genjutsus do. Like I said, if you can feel a physical manifestation of something then it is real regardless of what dimension it is in.

You say that "real world" problems allow society to grow, but the desire to have to grow is the same as having the desire to fail! You should aim for the top from the start. Why should a student aim to get a C in math and grow from there, when he can simply go for an A and go on with his life? Aiming for a C says that the student desires to miss problems and to lack understanding. Those who aim to fail are fools in my eyes.

Also, the purpose of advancement in society is to benefit the people on this earth. If all of the people are experiencing the benefits of stuff like technology, or a baby's love in their own worlds, then advancing this "real world" is no longer necessary.

If someone gets an A in a dream then they didn't get an A, they just dreamed that they did. And it wasn't earned either, which limits them, people don't grow if they get everything served to them on a silver platter.

People learn from mistakes, when you get something wrong you are corrected and learn from it.

Technology doesn't advance in dreams, and new people aren't born into the world in dreams, in order for new ideas to exists new people have to be born into the world.

People can't have families, pretending that illusions are your dead loved ones is insulting to the dead. And the families around you aren't real, so that isn't love.


And if you haven't noticed the entire world was fighting against it, people died trying to stop it and more were willing to give their lives to stop it, clearly people want reality not dreams.
