I think if Naruto was 5-year-old. I think Danzou would want to be seen as the savior of Naruto to Naruto before Hiruzen got to him.

Danzou twisted the Will of Fire in Naruto. Naruto saved Sasuke from Itachi. Sasuke asked to be killed as well. Danzou would kill Sasuke.
