If Ace never died then going with what was presented in the manga so far he'd be above Luffy and Sabo power-wise somehow.

This is true, so Ace would be above that. Every time ASL was ever presented in the manga simultaneously Ace was always portrayed to be the strongest of them with Sabo in the middle. Sabo is still above Luffy currently(though I suppose that will be argued) so the scaling seems to be the same as the old ASL days which would mean if Ace had lived he'd be just above Sabo and Luffy as he had always been shown to be.

Right. Which is what Oda likely would have done since he consistently placed Ace at the top of ASL. It just means Ace would be a badass.

Sabo was already Chief of Staff pre-timeskip, so I think pre-TS Sabo was stronger than Ace.

But we'll never know for sure since they never had any comparable feats. All we have to go off of is the precedent set forth in the manga, which is Ace was the strongest of the 3. Also until we see Dragon we could argue Ace had the strongest teacher who was grooming him to be PK so his training would have theoretically been good.

Sabo was being trained by Dragon for 10 years so he got better training than Ace did. Was it ever stated that WB trained Ace?

WB said he was grooming Ace to be PK. Also Ace would have been getting battle experience and training as well. Lastly I refer you to the part about Until we see Dragon we could argue Ace had the best teacher. We don't know how Dragon compares to WB but WB being WSM leads to him being the better person to learn from.

The gap between two Yonko level characters is very small, so WB being slightly stronger isn't going to make up for the 7 extra years that Sabo was training with a top tier compared to Ace's training with a top tier.

Extra 7? Ace had been training as long as Sabo. Sabo was picked up by Dragon then Ace set sail shortly after. Where are you getting an extra 7 years? We still don't actually know that Dragon can match a yonkou yet, though it's likely with how strong Sabo and some of his other members were.

Sabo was found by the RA when he was 10. Ace became a pirate when he was 17. During those 7 years, Sabo was training with Dragon while Ace was training with a pre-teen Luffy.

Ace's character was created to be the strongest of the ASL trio and the one with the greatest potential as well as Luffy's ultimate barrier in his dream of becoming pirate king(he'd not have been pirate king if Ace was still alive)
So yeah, he not only would have been stronger than Sabo, but i'm pretty certain he could have already been the closest to the pirate king title by this point judging by his growth rate. Just look at the difference in their portrayal comparatively to Burgess.
Burgess who 2years prior was portrayed to be an irrelevant ant in the fight between him and Teach was portrayed to force Sabo in having his hands full on to crush
His potential has always been greater, from the moment he started 2victories ahead, to the point where he unlocked his conqueror haki shortly afterwards(at 10), which many people view as a sign of greater potential than the rest(it was the reason why Doflamingo suggested Luffy had greater potential than Law) to the point multiple characters like Whitebeard, Chinjao and Sengoku suggested he was destinated to become the next pirate king, it can't make it fucking more clearer

Finally some one else who sees it the same. Except I disagree about Burgess, I don't think it was really that hard for him to wipe up Burgess. Burgess' durability may have let him hang in for awhile but he posed no real threat or effort to Sabo in their altercation. But I agree that Ace was always portrayed as the better of the 3.

Idk if Ace really has a better growth rate than Luffy. The gap in strength between Ace when he fought Jinbe and MF Ace didn't seem that wide, and look at the gap in strength between pre-TS and post-TS Luffy. Even though Ace wouldn't have been training as much as TS Luffy, he was still being trained by WB and growing in strength from fighting WB's enemies in the NW. So if Ace really has a better growth rate than Luffy, then I don't see how it's possible that Ace was only as strong as he was after that 3 year period. Also, I don't agree with using kid ASL's strength ranking to say that's how it will be/would have been. Using that logic, Ace would have been stronger than pre-TS Sabo, and I just don't see that being true since Ace was only the 5th strongest WB Pirate while Sabo was already the RA Second-in-command. And that logic would also mean that Sabo should be stronger than Luffy by EOS, which obviously won't happen.
