What i think should be considered cannon from the anime

i hate how everyone says manga link or it didnt happen. i consider the anime to be cannon too even the fillers. you just have to be intelligent about what you pick out. for example, the part 1 filler had jiraiya interviewing orochimaru. that obviously didn't happen. but kakashi used fire style jutsu in the anime but not the manga. im pretty sure that kakashi is supposed to be able to use fire style even though hes never used it in the manga. and temari can probably glide on her fan even though she hasnt done it in the manga. long story short: i think plot isnt accurate in the anime but the jutsus that the characters use are cannon. even in the video games sarutobi uses fire dragon jutsu. im sure he can do it even though he hasnt done it in the manga

If it wasnt in the manga it probably isnt cannon. The only exception i can think of is deidara and tobi capturing the 3 tails

No Kakashi can't use fire style in the manga therefore it isn't cannon. If he could then he'd have four elemental affinities which is pretty unrealistic for a young man like Kakashi. As for Temari, I agree she can probably glide on her fan.

You can't individually decide what's canon and what's not. Only Kishi can do that. Kishi is only in charge of the manga, therefore only the manga is canon.

i tend to agree to an extent. people say o kishi didnt write it it so you cant count it but do you really think he would let someone use his character in a way that misrepresents his work?

It's not necessarily a "misrepresentation", but it's still not his work. Also, Shonen Jump has the rights to Naruto, so when they produce the anime, they can make it however they want, regardless of Kishi's intentions or desires.

Unless I missed something, sadly, Guren and Yukimaru aren't canon.

The manga doesn't show any of the characters in those fillers.

Since arguably 50% of the people who are into Naruto only got into it because of the anime and then Started reading the manga.. I would say it is canon.. Unless kishimoto has something he disagrees with. Counting everything about the Character abilities. Because ALL the major sites that do Naruto info and etc take the Anime as Canon and use the info in it.. Sites such a Naruto wikia and etc.

But then its the person's choice if they wanna consider it canon or not. And then it depends if the person is a NARUTO fan or Kishimoto fan..

Kishimoto fan : only liking stuff kishimoto made

NARUTO fan : stuff ALL the naruto creators made such as the anime and the games. and etc.


Games and Anime do give depth to the character's ability. Like people who we have barely seen in a fight. Games help observe those characters.

As where I'm concerned Anime is 100% canon. might have contradictions with the manga but Kishimoto has no problem with it.. and plus kishimoto helps make the Anime soo yea. 100% canon buddy.


If someone tells you give me a manga link NOT a Anime link.. you should just stop arguing with the guy/gal since he/she only follows the manga.


Also there are 2 ways people look at "CANON" stuff.

1. Just the stuff created by the Writer

2. Stuff created by ALL that have copyrights to NARUTO
