so i was thinking on this for a couple days and i would really like it to happen.
as we know all villages and their respective leaders and 2 tailed beasts are facing Obito, Madara, and the Juubi. to me that just makes the 2 villains really OP or powerful then we would have expected. sasuke and co are talking to the edo hokages.
to me in order to progress into the story, whatever hashirama is going to say to sasuke might not even work. its naruto's job to do so. (as we know and its been told for generations.) i believe that orochimaru's plan right now is to make sasuke either not want to hit the hidden leaf and go after madara himself or piss off sasuke even more.
but to my point. if either don't really happen. i think sasuke and co will eventually go to the battlefield and join their respective sides.
sasuke, obito, madara + the juubi (power bigger then 9 tailed beasts) vs the villages the current 4 or 5 leaders (counting if tsunade lives or not, highly likely that she survives) and the previous 4 hokages of the leaf with 2 tailed beasts. to me its making the villains like their total badasses or making the villages weak or something but not really since they had to modify their power to get where they were.
naruto will try to face sasuke, while edo minato and kakashi fight obito and everyone else fight madara and the juubi. this might be wrong but i like the idea.
