Danzo is not a nice guy.
We should remember what he did to kabuto and his mother. Even hiruzen, danzo's best friend knows that sasuke killed danzo but still he don't give a Sh!t because he knows danzo was the one who was wrong.
Danzo was also in Tobirama's team yet no surprise from tobirama was shown, he is also all cool about it.
Moreover, all danzo ever wanted in his life was to become hokage, by any means.

Now we all know initially akatsuki was not a bad organisation, at the time when yahiko was still the leader. All they wanted was peace. Yet what they got was this, thanks to danzo who helped hanzou in his sinful deeds.
Now do i have to mention how danzo made sai kill his brother?

Danzo is just a power hungry corrupted individual, nothing else.
He is not any different then madara or orochimaru, if anything his way of doing tihngs are different. His last words about protecting konoha seemed legit though but his way of doing it certainly wasn't correct. And no matter what he says, it still doesn't make up for the crimes he did in past.

All the hokage know the truth about sasuke, that he killed danzo and he killed a lot more people and he also wanted to destroy konoha BUT STILL they are supporting him and they also support(or do not oppose) his decision of becoming hokage.
Moreover, Sasuke did nothing but save life of shinobi and naruto himself. He is the one who helped itachi in stopping kabuto, onoki stated the one who stopped edo tensei is the hero who saved the shinobi world !!
And people are still unaware that sasuke and itachi are the ones who stopped edo tensei .
He would be hailed as the hero of shinobi world and the shinobi are correct to trust their life on him.

Right on! And even worse. He and his selected Root members hid in the sewers and did not fight to save Konoha. He was hoping Konoha would suffer and make Tsunade look bad so he could become Hokage. Danzou is the biggest rat in the manga. At least Oro left the village before he tried to destroy it.
