That has no impact on the fact that Aizen is a two a penny villain, he is just a Voldermort with hair.

As for Gin his death is like all deaths in Bleach, pointless with no impact because it was badly thought out and delivered, Aizen didn't kill off Gin, Kubos butt hole writing ability did just the same as it has with all the characters he has killed off. To be honest for a man as gifted at character creation as Kubo I find Aizen to be a disappointment, his character is as linear as Momo's, perhaps it is his total lack of back story that creates this problem

It isn't that Aizen is a bad character it is just that he lacks any uniqueness

From the moment he was hanging off that wall in the seretei. Aizen is not a bad villain but he isn't unique. He is cold hearted, self pitying, egotistical and has God complex, this apply s to nearly every villain. He is, granted, a genius villain, somewhat of a Moriarty but his lack of complexity in his personality, brutality, back story and motives, unfortunately, makes the character too linear. Perhaps this will be corrected but I doubt it, I view Aizen as a waisted character, someone who could have been far more complex

Kubo is a great character creator but he is not a good story teller, he has failed to maintain the popularity of his story and he did that himself.

As for Gin, are you not too a disgruntled Aizen fan, upset because I do not see the appeal of the character? Pot calling kettle black somewhat but then all fans are biased to there favourite, that is just natural.

Gin made no sense either. His character was unique and unusual and yet he was waisted in a pointless storyline and ridiculous motives, Rengiku gets beat up, he swears revenge, becomes psychotic killer and then dies and leaves her to mourn for him her entire life, yes, wonderful logic that.
First of all, it's "wasted", not "waisted".

So you're telling me that Gin is a unique character? Hell, almost every shonen has a person like him as well.
I don't disagree with your opinion that Aizen isn't that unique, but I don't know many characters in Bleach, who are.
And also, I don't really think that people like him too much for being op. Because, look at Gremmy. When I want to like an op character, I choose people like Gremmy, Juha, Rukia (at least her new Bankai), Ichibei, Kenpachi, etc. Especially Kenpachi is a good example. Most of the people just like him for his power (which isn't bad), because his character hasn't had that much development.

Just so you know, when you try to downplay someone's "favorite" character to make yours shine, it's a failed argumentation/discussion and there's no need to debate any further.

But at the end of the day, people like who they like.
I like both, Gin and Aizen, but I personally dislike more things about Gin than Aizen.

I'll try to explain how my throught process went, or rather, my "emotion process". Maybe it'll explain it for some others as well.

When I saw Aizen decieve the soul society, I was like, "Shiiiiiiiiiiit". Sure, he was incredibly strong, that was like a bonus. However, I would like to ask fellow fans, weren't you more interested in hearing Aizen's explanations of things/hearing him talk more so than watching him swat down his enemies? I was always thinking I wonder what kind of mind **** he's going to pull next. You see, I believe as soon as Aizen was introduced as a great deciever, mind ****ery became synonymous with his name/character. I believe it had a lot to do with the way he was introduced, and even though I haven't watched an enourmous amount of anime, I haven't quite seen a villain being introduced like that. Myself, and several other of his fans perhaps, were waiting for his next big troll. Crush a few ants in the process? Awesome, but Aizen is the type of guy I patiently waited to hear talk.

He's also got a killer charisma in my opinion.

Then, you know what happened? He left the soul society and I/we waited very long just to get a few glimpses here and there. I think that anticipation led to my liking him more, he was introduced so strongly, and then just disappears for far too many episodes/chapters. He became a character of great mystery, I mean I bet so many of us wanted to see his bankai, but never got the chance. There's so much about Aizen that's still left to the imagination. And from what we got, I don't think he's a bad character at all, far from it. His defeat, the part about wanting to lose, it seemed like another apsect of Aizen's deception, something he kept hidden. I was dying for a background story, and I now may get it, so this too is why I'm excited that Aizen has returned.
