The point of this thread was to say that it is simple math and I forgot how to do it. I don't understand the second part you said. It seems contradictory to the first part

Im just saying that what you have to do is the very easy part of math, once you go into the real stuff however, calculating those equasions without a calculator is just a waste of time

Oh, well yea. For that exam we were calculating stuff like cardiac output and total peripheral resistance. TPR is mean blood pressure divided by cardiac output. To find MBP, we add 2/3 diastolic + 1/3 systolic which. So it could be something like 2/3(80) + 1/3(120) = MBP. I completely forgot how to do something as simple as multiple fractions and whole numbers. And for CO, multiplying using stroke volume is hard because it's a decimal. It's not hard, actually, but the point of this thread was that I forgot it all lol

In the end I did fairly well on this particular exam so that's all that matters. The anatomy portion was enough to boost me up for any points I lost due to math on the physiology part.

<div class="bbWrapper">I hear ya on this one. I'm almost dependent on a calculator sometimes. When it comes to multiplication and division I look at my husband and say, &quot;can I get some help here&quot;! I think they do make people dumber, and yes schools should focus on making kids work for the answer. They use to when I was in school but that was a long time ago.</div>

I agree Calculators shouldn't be used at a learning stage really. Also, if decimals bother you so much you can simply get rid of them by dividing the figures with 10 times the number of decimal places and add them back later.
