The summoner is killed ? I know the Edo doesn't go away but let's say he manages to complete the task the summoner gave him. Since Edos do't go away and the task is complete, do they regain their senses ?

Yeah but what about the seal ? It doesn't need the summoner. The seal gives them an objective, that's why Orochimaru told the Third that even if he died the Edos would still go after them. So if they complete their mission, they can go free ?
