Im curious about this even though madara says uchiha and senju dna makes the sages power it seems like its only been uchiha and hashirama dna so what would happen if you take tobiramas cells or any other senju can you still awaken rinnegan..if so then madara could have went after a much weaker senju than hashirama

I think Hashirama's flesh/DNA itself may be partially Mokuton, and the man is a mini Shinju. Makes sense when you think of the Senju as the "body" of the Rikudou, who was the Juubi Jinchuuriki.
