What happened to Sakura being hyped as a genjustu type?

Same goes for the movie, the Last. It depends on the featured content inside and if they fall in the series timeline. At any rate, they would be at least as "canon" as the anime filler, if not more so, considering that the novels are called epilogue and Kishi illustrated them himself. For me it means he had more involvement in these projects, than the movie, comparatively.

I know, I don't consider it (The Last) canon despite it being blessed and promoted as such; mainly for the simple fact that it doesn't affect anything, really. :| I'm not gonna watch it and it isn't really necessary for the story. I am fine how the manga ended which could have been a bit better, but overall wasn't bad.

Yeah, I agree with that, probably more "canon" than the anime filler as I don't think any of that was blessed "canon", but if they (the novels) weren't canonically blessed; they'd basically be anime filler in novel format. Regardless, I honestly expect to see SP animate them (the novels). They wouldn't have to do much work thinking up the plot; it's already done.

Although, Illustrations =/= Canon. But, I agree at that last point.

The novels cover things that were not covered in the manga, chapter 700 doesn't have everything, just because Gaara's love interest didn't get panel time doesn't mean she can't exist.

It would actually be a mistake from Kishi to waste panel time on an unknown character in the final chapter when he could have shown more valuable things.

I know. It was a poorly executed idea by Kishi. I only said that since someone said that the new movie implied that Sakura was one of the best in Konoha with regards to genjutsu resistance. I haven't seen the movie myself though, so I can't comment on the validity of the aforementioned statement.

It was a benign genjutsu that showed a person their memories. Naruto though was reliving his memories as well as Hinata's memories. He goes back and forth from their time as children to scenes that happened earlier in the movie from Hinata's POV.


I wouldn't read much into the scene. It's obviously there for plot reasons.
