I try. And I've been a die hard fan and have watched the anime through about 5 times and read the manga about 20 times over by now. I pay a lot of attention to the small things and I always try to ask the question : why is this significant? Knowing Oda pretty much everything is.

He needed to die otherwise BB wouldn't be the BB that he is. The ultimate villain of the series wouldn't be so villainous:hated or dangerous.

He's actually a decent character. Very stereotypical pirate with goals to achieve. He schemes and is hella strong. He is the polar opposite of Luffy (the #1 fan favorite character) so of course people dislike him.

Oda wanted him to be hated and thus he was the one Oda made to capture Ace and kill Whitebeard and steal his fruit.

He is a good villain no doubt about that. Yes, I know Oda wanted people to hate him because I heard of it. Not sure where though.

That's true. I don't know why. Yeah he's somewhat of a d*ck but he makes a great villain. The way i see it BB is the 2nd best villain. Doflamingo is the 1st.

Depends on how Kaidou turns out. Also depends on how / if Doflamingo is defeated. I'd give him credit as best villain if he isn't defeated this arc. He's good at scheming. But then again so is BB.

The best villain/anti hero in my opinion is Smoker as he's basically the Marine persona of Zoro.
