What happened to Itachi's ability....

What happened to Itachi's ability to control people from long distances? Remember when Itachi controlled that lady from miles away to lure Jiraiya away from Naruto in Part 1?
Well, I'm not saying he doesn't have that ability anymore but how come he hasn't used it since?

His ability doesnt work on everyone. He did activate Izanami so maybe he already caught Kabuto in a genjutsu but Kabuto doesnt know it yet? Or if you want to keep it simple then all you need to know are three words : Plot no Jutsu.

HE put her in a genjutsu the normal way looking in the eye. The genjutsu ordered her to go to jiraiya. She wasn't doing anything by her own will. I don't think that itachi could control her remotely even if he wanted to
