What happend to konoha?

Konoha seems to be in a similar state after orochimaru+suna attacked the village. This doesen't make scence, as it was utterly wiped out by pain. Either they built konoha looking like ruins, or they built exactly as it was at then it was attecked again?
Surely, it should look half built, not half ruined.
