Madara used a Rinnegan tech to immobilize him in the air. That's why he dropped his sword...I believe. Also....he could have put Madara in a genjutsu...at this point I don't rule anything out. We must enjoy this wild ride that Kishi has allowed us to ride, for free. XD

It could have been a Moku Bunshin because Madara wouldn't expect that from Sasuke and if Hashi gave his chakra already pre-formed into the appropriate natures then he could use it.
