Come on people. She's a kid. The only reason they show Konohamaru even though he's a kid is cause of his interaction with Naruto. Hanabi is a next gen ninja and has no real place in the story. Also, if you recall correctly, the Older Shinobi do not let the young fight. She is being kept safe atm with the other Genin.
Same as when Guy & Kakashi were told not to get involved when the 9-tails attacked.

younger than konohmaru. will probably fight sasuke when he arrives there. shes supposed to be an unparalled genius, stronger than hinata who was twice her age. neji was the strongest in hyuuga clan back then but i think hanabi will surpass him.

I don't know where she is, but I don't think Kishi will ever bring her up again. I can't see how someone so young would fit into the story, even if he wormed her in.
