How is he useless?!

Firstly, other than Sanji he seems to be Oda's biggest satirical target. He makes the Manga funny.

He clearly isn't useless since he managed to win over the Tontottans and completed the plan to knock Sugar unconscious, winning over many allies for the Strawhats. He's responsible for the pivotal point of the Dressrosa Arc

Usopp is a god. You should not insult gods so lightly.

In all seriousness, he is definitely useful. Having a sniper in your crew, especially one as accurate as usopp is, can have near limitless tactical uses in both offense and defense.

Well..... in anime, they make him look very bad for now. Yeah... for now...
But in manga, it's... it's beyond words... His awesomeness. Oda is attempting to upgrade him much more through this arc, while we still don't know what'll happen in Elbaf later on.

Usopp is one of the best OP characters, easily, tied with Nami, Zoro, Chopper and Sanji for my 2nd fav SH (a lot of ppl at no. 2 I know but I love them all soooo ...) and so tied for my 2nd fav character in OP

The anime actually did a pretty decent job with the recent ep.

No he's not, Nami is the 2nd most "usefull" straw hat, without her Zoro and Luffy would still be in East Blue
