If you have a budge to spend I suggest:

Call of Duty Black ops II
Fifa 13
Tomb Raider

If you love playing online with others and multiplayer is your thing then:
Modern Warfare 2, 3, Black ops I or II (zombie mode) - You can buy either one
Battlefield 3
Streetfighter
Need for speed Hot Pursuit
Fifa 11, 12 or 13
Killzone

BTW If you like RPG Games like me, then:
Final Fantasy XIII, part 2
Skyrim IV (The elder scrolls... do not BUY it)

If you want to play games for the story and getting power-ups, having amazing free-roam, then:
Batman: Arkham City, Arkham Asylum
Assasin's creed Series (Do not BUY Assassin's creed I: You will get bored after like an hour, I guarentee it... II is epic)
Sleeping Dogs (Has GTA Elements but of course it's in Hong kong and you are an undercover cop) GTA IV, Liberty City, Red Dead Redemption (Cowboy elements, but very cool)
Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 (You are spoilt for choice here as they are all EPIC and none of them are better than the other IMO

Oh yeah! Naruto ultimate ninja storm 3 is pretty epic too... and it's better than 1 and 2... 1 has better free roam but it takes ages to collect experience points and do story missions!!!

And For Racing: Need for Speed Hot pursuit, Burnout Paradise, Midnight Los Angeles, MotoGP are very good
