What Gaara ment?

OK during the hokage summit I have got mixed reviews about something Gaara said which was "I consider you a friend naruto if you consider sasuke a friend like I do with you.you must do what's best for him your friend"ppl say he was saying kill him and I was like no he means save him from the darkness he is in like naruto did for him

I just think it was misunderstood by naruto Gaara know what type of person naruto is and what he do for his friends
