Why do people always fuss over him? Its like he's the Nelson Mandela of anime , I swear. He's character is taken so seriously. What is it that makes him so different from any other anime character that has suffered great pain? Let me think , he's smart , calm , strong , he sacrificed a hell of a lot , I can think of a lot of other characters who had those traits. So I'm just honestly asking ( especially he's fanboys ) why him?? ( Please don't give me that itachi>your fav crap )

It's his not "He's".

And also I guess it's because he sacrificed his own clan for a village.
You're saying you know a lot of characters who've done the same, then go ahead and name some please?
I can't think of any tbh.

But I don't get the "Totsuka GG" sh*t as well.

Rationally speaking, because he's one of the most refined; highly class characters you'd find in an anime.

A lot more. Even though his fans ruin his image.

I can't speak for everyone, but I'll try to explain why he's my favorite anime/manga character of all time. I could write pages and pages about why this is the case, but I'll try and keep it short.

Before going any deeper, it's safe to say that Itachi is a masterfully written and likeable character, mainly because of the characteristics you mentioned. Sure, there are simillar characters to him in other works, but none quite exactly like him. He has a certain "something", certain attributes that make people hold him in high regard.

Personally, I found Itachi to be a very relatable character. I share a lot of his ideals, morals, and his way of thinking. So that's one reason why I hold a place for him closer than most other characters.

Additionally, if you look a little deeper, you'll find that Itachi is much more than just a character. There are many parallels and references between his life and Shinto mythology (namely the deities Izanagi and Susano'o). He's a symbol, in a very real sense.

But, as you implied, most of his "fanboys" utterly neglect who he was and what he stood for, in favor of trolling. That is indeed unfortunate.

Ikari Shinji (Evangelion)

Shinji? He really isn't in any way similar to Itachi.
Still an excellent character, though.

I don't personally agree with Itachi. I would choose my family over friends/neighbors every time

Pretty much what he said..not to mention his overall abilities and the way he uses them just makes my day. Also, he has a pretty decent story too...xP

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Im gonna try and explain. But I can only specualte, I think it was because to put it simply he was not a "*****".

Many people grow up just wanting to be someone else, while Itachi was someone who took iniative to understand what was "behind the scenes".

He knew a lot that other people didnt care for but he never bragged about it.

Instead of feeling sorry for himself and just letting others do all the work, he would try his best to make the best out of a situation even if that ment neglecting his own wishes.

Did that help?

I also think its because the story of his life is very interesting, he was someone very powerful and honorable but he never used that to make people praise him, instead he made the world think he was a bad guy because he stood up for what he believed in.
