I've seen it mentioned a few times, especially in the RP section -- cannon jutsu, cannon character, etc. What exactly does it mean? I've seen it in various contexts, so I'm confused xD

Thank you <3

It is canon. And it means something that stay true to the original story/timeline.

Like if I said kakashi had fire element. It is non-canon because it wasn't in the manga. It strayed from the author's set story.

Cannon = Jutsu that are used in the Naruto Manga/Anime that are used in our Naruto RP and have to be taught by a sensei or sempai before you can use them.

Custom Jutsu(CJ) = Jutsu that you make yourself and submit for approval that will be checked by a mod.

Custom Element Jutsu = After making a custom element (not ones that have been shown in the manga/anime....like Chocolate, Ruby, etc) you will make jutsu for these elements that belong to you and you only, unless you decide to teach them when you become a sensei or sempai yourself.

Anything else?

cannon means used and shown in the official storyline (manga). noncannon would be considered jutsu from anime fillers and characters from anime fillers.

example cannon: Gaara meeting young Matsuri and trains her before the end of part1 and then becomes present again in part 2

example noncannon: Naruto meets Sora and befreinds him as "kyuubuddies"

you really gonna complain about an extra 'N'. Wow dude. do you want me to edit my post for you? how about you complain about the spelling of it in the title....guess why you didnt and no1 else did? Cause no one CARES.

...chocolate element? o_o I could use that?

This makes a lot more sense now. Thank you <3
lol. It has been made already. I believe by Rei if I'm not mistaken. You would have to reach the requirements to learn one period which is to obtain Kage Rank and then ask her to teach you. Good Luck with that lol. Rei is almost NEVER online for more than an hour a day if that.

Canon characters are the main characters where the whole story revolves mainly to them.
Ex. Canon char - Naruto, Kakashi
Non-canon char - Guren
Canon jutsu and Canon episode - same principle apply

It matters. Cannon and canon are 2 completely different things. Are you trying to endorse misspellings?

Canon - things present in the source material. For Naruto, the source material is the manga. Therefore there is no such thing as "canon episode" since the anime is only an adaptation of the source material.

whatever double "n" or single >.<
I know canon episodes since I mostly saw them in many anime articles if you're reading. So canon episode is existing. I said same principle apply since the same goes with canon characters, canon episodes are the main episodes where the story mainly run.

Cannon - a piece of artillery that people use to fire high explosives.

Canon - an electronic company that makes awesome things like digital cameras. It's also the name of a manga series about a vampire.

>.>

It's also what everyone else said.
