[Theory] What exactly did Whitebeard do to Kaido?

In the chapter Suicide on the page where Kaido makes his debut appearence. He said "THat old whitebeard did a number on me. He's immortal? Why would he say that when he fell 10,000 meters and didn't have a scratch on him? Unless whitebeard was the one that made him immortal? I believe it was OnePieceHQ on youtube that theorized That Kaido is the former first mate of whitebeard and he left because Whitebeard had no ambitions or desires to conquer anything. As his former first mate whitebeard thought of Kaido as his son. Why I say this? Because throughout Kaido's life he has experienced failure many times and became depressed. Whitebeard having care for "his son" went to the lengths of making kaido unkillable. Then Kaido set off on his own to do as he pleases. "That old whitebeard did a number on me" could mean not physically. It could explain why he attempted to attack whitebeard at marineford to get revenge.Having him being suicidal and being angry that he can't kill himself. If you don't agree. What do you think Whitebeard did to him?

I've heard a lot of people say he was saying it because Whitebeard died and he can't. Idk it could be but I'm not a huge fan of that idea. I agree with you in a bit that WB is responsible for Kaidou's immortality somehow. I think Kaidou sought a great death at the hands of WB who kept trying to get WB to kill him and it annoyed WB, eventually WB had the old Ope Ope no Mi user(before Law) grant Kaidou immortal life. I know there's a few holes in that theory as well but I think the immortality is because of WB the how I'm not so sure.

My interpretation was Kaidou believed the only one capable of giving him what he wants (death/suicide) was whitebeard and him dying obviously denied him that so now Kaido is just bored of the world and wants to destroy it all.

im a big whitebeard fan and what i think he did to kaido is the scare on his chest and others.
the reason is because after falling from the sky he didnt have a scratch
so where did the scare come from wb. he gave him that scare and brought kaido closer to death then he has ever been.
also luffy also could of survived that with out a scratch. maybe in the future we will see drop in to battle like that again.
