I keep telling a user this. They swear the Sage gave Ashura the 9 tailed beasts and that he was a jinchuriki/ meeting place just like Naruto. If he was that would be 100% to important to leave out lol. Out of the Sage and Kurama SOMEBODY would have mentioned it.

It's possible, but can't really say anything for sure. On one hand, his powers seemingly are rooted from the bijuus due to the chakra Avatar that Ashura has. Mere RSM does not provide that. But since we've never seen any information regarding this in the manga or DB, it better to assume Ashura had just RSM.

However, if Ashura was the meeting place of the bijuus, then Hagoromo probably wouldn't have said this:

He wouldn't call Naruto the child of prophecy or be surprised by seeing a birth of a ninja that makes the tailed beasts give their power on their own accord. But on the other hand, if Hagoromo himself granted the bijuus chakra (Juubi's chakra) then it might be possible. Plus, Hagoromo also said that's the reason Ashura chose to reincarnate in Naruto.

Hagoromo said that Ashura was a no-good and needed the assistance of many people to come close to his brother (3T Indra). But after hard work, his chakra blossomed and he gained the same power as his brother (3T Indra). Seeing this, before his death, Hagoromo chose Ashura as the successor of Ninshu and granted him his power (Six Paths chakra) due to which Ashura awakened RSM, most probably. Whether or not this entrusting of power contained the 9 bijuus chakra or not can't be determined, but assuming that Hagoromo gave Ashura the Six Paths chakra which is equal to Juubi's chakra which is equal to 9 bijuus chakra, we can assume that Ashura got their power as well. Indra equaled this power by awakening his MS presumably after his father's death.

I never said Ashura was the meeting place of the bijuus. Ashura definitely WASN'T the meeting place of the 9 bijuus because Hagoromo clearly said that Naruto was the first person to achieve this. But Ashura had the power of the 9 bijuus chakra in the form of Hagoromo's Six Paths chakra entrusted to him on top of his own chakra which gave his powers a similar boost that Juubi's chakra or 9 bijuus chakra would give.
