So can someone explain to me exactly what they are...is Orochimaru's dimension literally inside his body and he just shrunk Sasuke? Is Jiraiya's barrier literally inside the stomach of a frog? How do they compare with the kamui dimension?

Intergalactic planetary, planetary intergalactic.... Its complicated space/time ninjutsu. I do not believe that anyone "shrunk" anyone down or that the insides of a frog- even a magical one- look like that! They are jutsu that Oro and Jiraiya created and that involved creating a dimensional space that uses the people's bodies a medium to travel back n forth. They suck them or their consciousness into their dimension, not inside their body, but through their body! See? Not complicated one bit! To make it even simpler....think of your own lil "space"....a nice lady holding a nice cool beverage in one hand and maybe a whip in the other (but not a spiked whip). Maybe its outdoors on a green grassy hill or even better, the 50 yard line of a football field in an empty pro stadium (your choice of town but that doesnt matter).
