What exactly are fanboys?

Yeah, I know that. And I hate myself for it, but I get easily pissed off at certain people. This guy is one of them. I would love to blow the prick off, I really would, but some people can just get under your skin. It doesn't help that weeks after our one "debate", he starts pestering me.

I see, well I can only suggest what you can do, not what you should do. That being said, I suggest that you find some way to just ignore him. It seems to be a good solution for this particular problem.

They just like that person a little bit too much.

A bit too much maybe, but from what people have answered, it seems that the majority of fanboys are illogical because they favorite character. I'm sure if they would just acknowledge their character's weakness then fanboys / girls would not be so seemingly hated. Am I wrong?

No,you're right on that one.But there is a level to it.Like for example there are some fanboys/girls that say Nagato can pwn everyone in the manga (For example) and there also are some people that just say Nagato can beat someone really powerful but will never say he can pwn everyone.The higher the level of there fanboyism the more they are hated.Even to the extent that they will be reported and -reped for most of there threads.

Hit report and move on if someone is making irrelevant comments in the thread and making personal attacks. Staff will handle it. Flaming or insulting back may get you in trouble as well because starting and participating in flame war both are prohibited in global forum rules.

Not all the time do fan boys act without sense though. I've seen some fan boys that had real facts when it came to defending their favorite character. If you can answer this question with yes then you are a fan boy:

"Do I get offended when people talk badly about my favorite character?"

It starts to get dangerous when your feelings for a character get so strong that you suffer when someone says something negative about them. Or if they die in the story that they are part of. I always thought girls are more affected by this than boys. Anyway, when I was alot younger, it happened a few times. Then you really get insulted when people insult your character and you really can`t sit still when they are in danger in their story.

I`m glad I`m over this now. I`m really surprised how many other people share the problem that I once had (had nothing to do with Naruto, was some time ago). It`s better to sit back, enjoy a story and enjoy reasonable discussion, then ignore discussions that won`t make any sense. Like when someone says they like Sakura, others say she sucks and so on. Such discussions go nowhere.

When you love a character so much that you overrate him/her beyond reason.

A person whose Fanaticism is so great that he/she is incapable of mustering up logical reasoning when it comes to any other characters besides the one he/she likes/loves.

Anybody who puts "Lord" in front of a characters name.

Nah but for real, I think the real definition goes from person to person. That includes the extent by which somebody would go for a character despite logic stating otherwise (the degree is also subjective).
