What ever happened to Rin?

Well, we know quite a bit about Kakashi and let's not kick up a debate on Obito. How about a What ever happened to the third member of Team Minato....Rin? Unless I missed something in my search, I didn't see any other posts about her. Kakashi states he was unable to protect her and the trail goes cold.

What are your thoughts about her fate?

My guess is that she's just a one time character.. No significance to the story whatsoever

I do not care to be honest. She's fodder. It confuses me why people even care. I guess Kishi knew that people didn't care about her (who would like such a crappy character?) and simply decided to carry on with the important characters.

She died during or short after Kakashi gaiden, because when Kakashi died vs pain, you saw him getting reunited with his old team members and Rin looked the same as during Kakashi's gaiden.

we don't know what happened to her but, my guess is that she died on a mission or something between obito's death and the kyuubi attack. Also kakashi now blames himself for not saving her.

Rin died and now Obito blames the ninja world for her death which is why he became Tobi and wants to put an end to violence and all ninja's, once his mask comes off there will be flashbacks of Rin etc that explains it all? Also yes we did see Obito get crushed by all this rocks but no one ever found his body, Kakashi never visits his grave because he only has his name written on the memorial wall. Lots of possible ways he could have cheated death, could have used Izanagi in the last moment by accident or saved by someone and that's how he got his powers and motivation

Don't flame me for being stubborn or something, I just think Tobi is most likely Obito and I'm trying to create possible ways for how this could have happened and his motive.

Oh and Rin probably gave Tobi/Obito the idea of transplanting sharingans

She probably died in between Obito's death and the Kyuubi attack considering that she's not seen in the Kyuubi attack flashback

Which would then mean that Kakashi did a terrible job keeping his promise to Obito about protecting her because she died a few months after Obito :|

Show me this in the manga, when I look it up all I see is Kakashi meeting his father beside the fire.

Also Tobi was not that strong back then, in order to fight Minato he had to use cheap tricks like putting the village and Naruto in danger and he still lost to Minato.
