Not really. The two are completely seperate aside from the fact that FMAB is canon and FMA is an original story. FMAB is not a sequel to FMA.

OT: I suggest you watch the entire thing. It only repeats itself for the first 10 episodes or so, but you will notice differences even in those episodes. The FMAB content starts around episode 10-14 or something.

The first 5-10 episodes cover roughly the same stuff; however, a full re-watch is worth it. As some scenes are indeed switched up a bit.

Watch from the beginning. They're different. Also, the animation quality is different, as well as the soundtracks.
