What drew you in into Naruto?

In summer of 2007, my brother, our cousin and I were bored on a vacation in our countryside house; my cousin had a DVD with the first several Shippuuden episodes. I was totally in the moment I heard Deidara's "Art is a blast!" 
Just remembered back in 2001 i was searching for some video games/movies in C+ client and found a few manga in their hentai folder XD
After that incident, i just repeat the manga once in every month until i discover the anime after some years.
It was hell back then to search for Naruto online, you either get trolled with fake hentai or virus :s

Yeah, I saw it back on toonami. iirc my first episode was when orochimaru first appeared in the chunin exams.

Rock lee kicking sasuke in the face. I was like. SHIT JUST GOT TEAL. Kicked him so hard sasuke hung in the air for half a episode.

Okay, this is a long one.
TL;DR - My best friend showed me a fan-made NaruSaku AMV at a time when I was courting the hottest girl in my class and failing miserably.

It was a fine sunny day, and I was hanging out at my best friend's place (celebrating the completion of IGCSE, actually), and he started talking about Naruto.
He had been watching it for quite some time by then, and knew quite a bit about the series, but was never quite able to convince me to watch it. Then came up with this plan to take advantage of my failing female department to pull me to the dark side. Showed me a video of Naruto and Sakura, with my then-favourite song "You and Me, by Life House" playing in the background, portraying Naruto as me, and Sakura as my crush.

Then I started watching the anime, but not quite pulling off marathons due to episode availability issues, and because I still enjoyed modding Red Alert 2 more than watching anime.
This continued for a year until high school, when I finally got my hands on all the episodes at once. A handful of DVDs from a friend let me watch the whole Part 1 in a matter of weeks, if not days. I enjoyed this.
Then trouble started again because I wasn't able to acquire shippuuden episodes. At this point I got tired of waiting, and the inner cat in me took me to onemanga.com and that's when I truly started reading Naruto.
Bonus 1:
Reading it from the start seemed repetitive, as I had already watched the anime, so I went to leafninja.com, and read the chapter summaries, as well as some section in that same site along the lines of "anime>manga cuts" or something, that told me what I might have missed by skipping the anime. I was soon up to date, and continued to watch the latest chapter every week until 700.
Bonus 2:
Yes, as you may have noticed, I entered the series as a NaruSaku fan. But that soon changed, as I found my own Hinata, complete with at least 2 pregnancy scares (one for Bolt, and one for Himawari).

I was in middle school when part 1 was out, the fight with Haku is what got me into it, Lee's taijustu made me fall in love with it and the chuunin exams is what got me obsessed with it.
The anime did a good job in promoting the manga IMO, I would have never started reading if it wasn't for Lee's fighting and Naruto's character.
