What does Rinnegan actually do

So far its obvious that only the most powerfull ninja have the rinnegan, but i havent really seen alot of what it does i realize it links fields of vision but really the spikes that let nagato conrol the 6POP had nothing to do with the rinnegan and all of the techniques that were used didnt have to do with it. Obito has it and he has yet to do anything with it, and madara made a big deal about it but never really used it either so my question is WHAT DOES IT DO! I know its stronger than Sharingan because its the next form but for the life of me i cant figure out why? Unless the 6POP tech's were actually the Rinnegan but i dont think so.

Even though Madara likes Sharingan More Rinnegan still holds the biggest arsenal and has most secrets.

Because only Madara knows how. He is the only one who unlocked Rinnegan and he's the only one who knows all of it's secrets lol that's obvious..

Have I spoken about PS ? Ofcourse it's a MS tech. Paths, GM and Meteors are Rinnegans.

It has the visual/perception ability of Sharingan except even better. He dodges most moves that are in his line of sight, including Kakashi's Raikiri WHILE he was using Sharingan, which is insanely impressive. This ability is especially magnified when the 6 paths of pain are in play and there are zero blind spots.

It allows for the use of insanely OP techniques that varies based on user. Same like MS moves vary based on user.

Pretty much. Notice the paths of tobi and paths of nagato did totally different things. it is based on the user. Although it seems like the meteor and gedo maze are two hallmarks, the moveset feeds off the paths of pain and enhances them. Like the Rinnegan linked summoned beasts.

im not sure about the meteor because that is a madara specific move but Gedo mazo controll and occular link seem universal.

that was chibaku tensei its a gravity tech it was nagato specific

Ah I see, I confused the two. Then I think you are right. It enhances the heck outta moves because of Sharingan-esque perception and insight, it seems to increase chakra reserves significantly, and with the 6 paths there are no blind spots.

its confusing i really hope that kishi brings it into the spotlight waaaay more because now its like oooooh madara has rinnegan but doesnt really explain why its such a big deal

np dude, it is something I thought over before too because it didn't seem like it did much. but watching the entire pain arc in the anime from when he first fought jiraiya to where he fought naruto really helped clarify a lot. + rep for the thread.
