what does reincarnating into someone mean?

this is what's confusing me right now. does it mean that Naruto is the way he is because of Ashura or what. does it mean that generally people's personalities are defined by their ancestors or is Naruto and Sasuke genuinely the way they are then the ancestors decided to reincarnate into them.

secondly, what does the sate of reincarnating supposed to do?

does it give knowledge? does it alter personally? do is it give previous memories visual? secrets jutsus what? is there some magical powerup chakra that has always been there but could not even use it.

i really don't get it. how did Naruto even summon the sage while dying in pain. and why did it happen when he received the chakra from Obito? how did Sasuke even do it. anyway...

reincarnation is ultimately being reborn.. this is where things get tricky in terms with naruto.. if naruto followed the traditional myth of reincarntation then technically hashirama could never have been revived and the same goes for sasuke.. since the soul is constantly being reborn after each death.. there are different interpritations of it but this is a common one.. and since this is kishi we are on about he normally strays from the common ... with most things anyways

being a reincarnation does not mean much...

you could be completely different from your past life.. being a reincarnation does not affect your skills.. this is proven considering hashirama was better at everything to madara..

some reincarnations can sometimes see parts of there past life but they do not retain everything so this varies

there is normally something you have in common with your past life..

these could be certain features or traits... in naruto's case the trait that has been shared along with all previous reincarnations is ashura's chakra.. he seems to grant this to whoever he has been reincarnated as

Actually, well, thats how I think it is.
Reincarnating into someone means that alot of personalities are just the same .. Mirror like.
Just as naruto is peaceful, friendly and was pretty untalented.. Hes just as a Kind of mirror.

But this time I think that is not exactly how "Reincarnating" is defined in the recent Mangas.
Naruto said that he felt the presence of Ashura. Which actually shall mean that a Piece of Ashura is inside of Naruto's
"Soul" his inner self.
