Probably because not only did he do Rinne Tensei, but he also had the Juubi extracted. Both of these were said to have set in stone deaths. Naruto had the Kyuubi put back in him, but nothing happened to Obito. Naruto probably just prolonged his life.

Maybe he'll get on life support. Every morning, Naruto will go visit him and touch him.

juubi extraction didnt matter thanks to gedo. the arm is still around... lol he'll be in the hospital
