The very same thing for when Sakura tried to sooth Naruto while he was in the four tails mode. Even though she knew she was in extreme danger, she still tried to do so to save him further pain. The difference is, the tails retreated later and she got up and healed his injuries.
The issue here is that it's a matter of preference--nothing more...
