READ BEFORE you guys comment....

Then I want to explain a few things before asking.

You see, I'm going to download a youtube video AND I want to SAVE it completely.... So by that I right click on the video then it appears " Save link as "... So does it mean the file I was going to download and save, then will it be SAVED forever?

I noticed that I downloaded some youtube videos for a long time ago without saving it, but only added it on the folder. It worked and I watched it on Windows Media Player or somewhere else. Then after some months it doesn't appear because that video I downloaded was removed by the USER, and from that, I could not play my file on Windows Media Player anymore.
I wanted to watch those videos without any internet connection before, but by that day it was removed by the user.

So, to save a video completely WITHOUT being removed, then if I click on " Save link as "... Does it mean the file or video is going to be saved on my computer forever?

To watch the video without an internet connection, you would have to download the video.

Another way is to type "ss" in front of the word youtube in the URL and press enter. It'll take you to a site with the clip ready for download. (EG: )

Yes, you should click "Save link as" when you pick the quality you want

Then does it mean it will be SAVED forever on my computer?

Since I noticed some week ago, the videos I downloaded worked right? THEN after some months the file didn't work on my folder, because the youtube user removed it so it means I could not watch the videos. I tried to search after the same search on youtube, but I noticed it wasn't there anymore.

That's the reason why I HAVE to save it on my computer...

But if the videos I save somewhere else on my computer, then I can STILL watch them even the user deleted it on Youtube, right? Please answer...

Ok I'm unsure of exactly what you're asking so I'll use images to check.

So by that I right click on the video then it appears " Save link as "
So you're not going:
You must be registered for see images

But instead?
You must be registered for see images

That won't download the video. If I do click Save link as... then I get:
You must be registered for see images

That file is only ~100 KB and just contains information relevant to the webpage not the video embedded into the page itself. Youtube by default won't let you download videos straight from their site as it just encourages people to download copyrighted material.

Are you asking about downloading using another site which extracts the video?

Well, 1st.... I did download the videos right? THEN my question was if I click on " Save Link As " then will the video be saved forever?

I'm not sure if you did. When you played back your downloaded videos, did they open in your default web browser?

I noticed that I downloaded some youtube videos for a long time ago without saving it, but only added it on the folder. It worked and I watched it on Windows Media Player or somewhere else. Then after some months it doesn't appear because that video I downloaded was removed by the USER, and from that, I could not play my file on Windows Media Player anymore.

?

You seem unsure of what program your video was opened in. As an example, that Save link as... that I used above will not have downloaded a video. It will have downloaded the information relevant to the specific webpage that the video was embedded in. If I was to click on the download, it would direct me to that Youtube page.

If you can't access the videos any more it is possible that you never actually downloaded them, just saved a link which lead you to the webpage you initially found them on. That would require an internet connection.

~~ Edit ~~

Ok it's 2:25am at the moment so I'm going to head off. From your initial description I don't think you ever downloaded the videos. You likely downloaded the webpage info which merely created a link back to the webpage the video was embedded in. If that were the case, the video would no longer display it the up-loader removed it, because you were just visiting the now empty page.

This is even more likely if you tried to download (or click Save link as...) on a Youtube page directly as you generally cannot download from Youtube because it makes piracy too easy.

For future downloads you should try a site which loads the Youtube video and offers a download of the actual video not just the webpage.
