To bad that Hiruzen has to spend his whole life to serve the village and spent most of his time on spying naruto (to protect him) and some shady citizen. If not he could has been the Sage of Monkey by now. He should able to neg diff madara, pain, orochimaru and kaguya easily.

About the kaguya case, sage of monkey is very hard and unbreakable + enma staff, he can make the staff to stay btw every dimension (since it is unbreakable) and troll her with the shini gami.
