The thing about it is: Naruto only ever chased after Sasuke when it was a part of the mission to chase after Sasuke. He never declared any undying romantic love for him or anything.

2. It wasn't even that long. Sasuke was gone from the village for about 3 or 4 years (and during 2 of those years, Naruto was training, not chasing after Sasuke). That is not that long when you really consider about how old current Naruto is.
