I think it sucks, education should be free and we should have more freedom.

For Example: Our society needs doctors, but to become a doctor, one must spend thousands of dollars just to get the degree in hopes of obtaining a job.

but not everyone has the money to do so

college should be free imo

Students are graded on 3 aspects: Math, Reading, and Comprehension. To the federal govt nothing else matters so our classes are littered with useless shit. Everything useful in real life does not matter to the govt so it is an afterthought.

You can thank our education department for valuing tests over learning.

P.S. I don't know anyone that got a job doing what they went to school for. Infact most can't even get a good job because employers want 6+ years of experience and a masters degree as soon as you graduate.

you can take comfort in the fact that at the end of all those frustrating years of hard work, you get a piece of paper as proof of how good you are at following orders and asking as less questions as possible. so employers will know to pick you instead of the dumbass who never finished highschool and instead won a noble prize out of his parent's basement.

if you look closely, school and even a little bit of university/college is a system to produce factory workers, everyone get's there at the same time, eat and rest and the same time (they are told by bells ringing, just like in factories in the 19th century). you split people into managable groups each with it's own designated shift manager. if you have a problem with your group you go to him, if you have a problem with your floor you go to the floor manager (the counsler). you are getting punished for being late or fighting with your co workers/co studnets. and at the end of the year everyone get's graded not only by the results they produced, but also by their performance and efficiency.

but hey, this time you pay them to be a factory worker instead of them paying you. at least that changed...

All high paying jobs usually require a higher level of education which means you have to pay for that quality. I do agree some of the money spent on education is outrageous and that's something that has to change. I heard Germany's tuition is free for university.

Depends. Aeronautical engineering is hella interesting if you ask me.

I was an all honors and AP level high school student, so I didn't have to go through the BS that a lot of my peers did.

Fact of the matter is, everything revolves around money. School only focus on there standardized test scores so they can get affine bonus for themselves. English especially is like this. Rather than teaching relevant topics, all you focus on is passing a test. My school was penalized for having too many mentally handicapped children, thanks to no child left behind. (law) Those kids were then sent to a different school. Because their mental state hurt the wallets of those higher up officials.

College level as well. They make you pay all sorts of fees to learn and study. But they only take great students. (depends on the school) So they can have strong prestige therefore bringing in more students and along with that, more money.

I plan on my profession being as far from education as possible.

P.S. notice how teachers are one of the lowest paid employees in America. Wonder where all that money's going.

Free Health Care and College.

Students in pre college spend the least amount of time out of all the developed nations in school.
yet are #2 in reading and Math and #1 in science.

America is the the 14+ in reading, 25+ in Math and 16 or so in Science. We spend more time in school
and we end up getting less in return. We go in debt for life while other nations do it for free.

Why?

Because for some reason the 99% are brainwashed thinking the "American Dream" will happen to them while they work retail and slave labor jobs and view anything that isn't Capitalism as Communism. They think giving the Rich tax breaks somehow creates more jobs. They believe 1 person making the pay for 3000 people will somehow replace the 3000 people who would have bought that much food, clothing and other things.

1 Person who makes more doesn't mean they will buy more.

I find Rudolf Steiner's Antroposofy based educational system pretty interesting.
