Surpass Enies Lobby? Sure Dressora is good,Sabo is back the story is decent but it needs that something.

I personally think it needs one hell of a fight to be honest.Something which can top Lucci vs Luffy fight which is very unlikely.

I don't see Dressrosa to be something that is or can be as big as Ennies Lobby. Honestly I see it as a build up for something in the near future, that would probably top Ennies Lobby, maybe.

Enies lobby just had an unsurpassable aura around it IMO. A small crew flat out invade world government territory and declare war, stomping through mother****ers to retrieve their friend. Nothing beats it so far, Dressrosa definitely doesn't, but like the guy above said Dressrosa I think is a stepping stone. We actually got a lot of information, character introductions and backstory in this arc which could be pivotal in future arcs, so we'll see.

Nothing, it surpassed that arc already. DR has everything, the amazing plot & development, flashbacks (Corazon flashback > Robin's flashback), fights, reoccurring themes (inheriting will), new characters, character development & even romance. Why does everyone use fights to compare arcs or think an arc needs a good fight to be good? Oda's writing/story-telling is far better than some epic fight. IMO Dressrosa surpassed Enies Lobby for me. Just wait till you see how Oda concludes this arc, it'll be the cherry on top and it will be awesome.

Not really, the arc isnt meant to surpass anything since its just a set-up arc for the big events to come, but than again I personaly think that the arc itself had some flaws, flaws that EL didnt have, still DR is a good arc.

enies lobby was my absolute favorite arc and i don't think anything so far has come close except maybe the war arc.

it had a real strong bonding and emotional moment because of robin and the crew with luffy declaring war on the world just to save one friend and then everyone got a fight in and good ones too! and then that ending with all of them exhausted and zero trying to hold out and just as the world seems to be falling in on them the sunny comes to the rescue by itself thus proving that ussops want and need to save the sunny and leaving the crew wasn't for nothing that the ship truly was a member of the crew not just a ship.

10/10 arc oda has his work cut out for him to surpass that

Dressrosa is more like showing the limitations of the Straw Hats (atleast Luffy) and giving the reader insight into the strength of Yonkos and other top tier

The entire purpose of Dressrosa is to do what I wrote above but also to build allies (Like Whitebeard Allies) to obviously call for on the future.

imo Dressrosa is more like the "filler" arc Long Ring Long Land Arc (arc where Aokiji murked the Straw Hats) as they both show the limitations of the Straw Hats

Enies Lobby can be mainly summarised in one word: Brawl. It was an all out fight and a very action based Arc. We leant bout Robin tragic past and obs the amazing Lucci vs Luffy, Zoro vs Kaku, Sanji vs Jabra. Enies Lobby is equal to or less than MF in terms of action. Dressrosa is an arc which HAD to be done and made long to gain allies and to show of its power.

It is quite obs tht the entire Dressrosa arc is building up to the fight against Kaido which could potentially, imo, even surpass MF and easily Enies Lobby

Though the art in Law flashback, the absolute emotion I felt and the legend tht Corazon is acc made me shed a few tears. It also made the scene of Vergo being cut by Law 10x better

Dressrosa is the better arc for me, despite it seemingly being dragged out towards the end. Though it only feels that way since I actually caught up to OP a couple chapters before they actually arrived to Dressrosa. This arc has everything for me though and is still a pivotal type of arc. Think about all the change that's gonna happen after this arc to the One Piece world. I've also loved the flashbacks of each character shown (Kyros and fam, Law & Corazon, Doffy and his fam). The development is everywhere and with the reveal of a new admiral, Sabo's return, and him getting the MMnM, this arc is my favorite one to date.
