What do you want to be "when you grow up"?

I've always found the question "what do you want to be when you grow up?" very difficult to answer... And even today, I still do, which kind of disturbs me, to tell you the truth. It makes me feel like I have no goal... no destination - that everything I'm doing right now serves no purpose in the long run because I don't know where I want it all to take me.

Also, don't get the impression that I'm some 7-year old kid from this thread, lol; I can assure you, I'm much older than "7". I'm just without a real goal at the moment, I suppose.

On a brighter note, what do YOU want to be when YOU grow up? And if you already "are" something, what did you want to be, and are you what you wanted to become?

im already wat i want to be a firefighter. but it wasnt always easy u have 2 make a list of things u want to be and go after dem i had 3 things on my list a fireman, a lawyer or a computer technician i worked 4 my 1st choice

Pretty much the same here, and I have to choose what to study in collage and I just cant decide what I want to do :/ it sux

I would like to be...I sincerely don't know so many things I like, I would like to have a good job that let's me earn quite a lot of money(so teacher is not option).

My main problem is that what I want to do (ie. my dream) is different from what I logically should do. In other words, if I were to pursue my dream, I would certainly not make much money, which, as much as I despise saying it, is necessary in our world.

I really don't want to lead a life centered around making money, but at the same time, I know I wouldn't be happy if I were in a low-paying "dream"ish job. But, I guess that it's better to be kind of unhappy and making an all right amount of money than to be kind of unhappy and not making enough money.

The innocence of dreams is easily and tragically corrupted by physical necesities. If only my dream were to be the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company lol xd

i got my job as a cellphone and computer tech.
but im tired now and fell boring... so i need to get new job in a new country
but need to start again. so im stock atm.

well right now i am soon to start my first year of high school. and i am going to finish those years like they are nothing. (like the rest of my school years....XP) then i am am going straight to collage to join courses =^.^= and once i finish my bachelors degrees i am going to go all the way to masters, and once i get out of collage i am moving back to Texas. Cause i am pretty sure i will go to an out of state collage, and probably settle down as a veterinarian. get a good amount of land and have a good life. of course there will be ups and downs.
