What do you think of Kakashi making a promise he couldn't keep?

I think he's a brilliant let down, best there ever was.

"Everything will go back to the way it was, I promise"/ Sasuke: Kiss my ass/

"I'll protect Rin, don't worry"/ -Shuriken to the neck-

"I'll protect you, even if it costs me my life"/ If it weren't for Naruto's plan, they would've died

This is all true. If Obito was able to escape the cave next chapter and attempt to save Rin, it's his fault for failing. Also, Rin is a ninja so she should be able to protect herself too. Look at Sakura and Hinata, at least they can do something

He blames the reality they live in. Obito isn't like Sasuke or Pain. He isn't brought up by hatred. He is using other peoples hatred. That is what Shikaku and Itachi have told Naruto. He's not like Pain, and he can't be talked to. That is what they said.

no, Obito shouldn't blame Kakashi for Rin's death. they are shinobi, people get killed! (heck, people get killed in this world too) unless Kakashi personally killed Rin, he is not responsible for her death. how about she is responsible for her death, as a totally hypothetical option, and if she were stronger she wouldn't need Kakashi to protect her........

(also, what the guy above me wrote. Obito is blaming reality)
