Satan is an angel his original name was Lucifer which means bringer of light or light bringer whatever you like U_U. When he was cast from heaven then he was branded as Satan: which is Latin for enemy, and the reason he was cast ot was because he hated the fact that god created humans and favored them above all else. looking at how we turned out you can understand why people would join his side
