What makes people say he is the "best written character" in Naruto? He did undergo tons of development, sure, but that doesn't automatically equate to a good character, let alone the best one. Not to say he is not a good character, but I still don't think he is deserving of being called "the best".

Tons of development to some means a deep character when in reality he is the opposite, he just got 5 new reasons to be butthurt and angry at someone else like this is not a joke response saying butthurt thats what it was everything was for revenge or to keep up with naruto. And I'm not saying naruto is a better written character they both suck compared to itachi but character writing in naruto is garbage the world setting carried the series imo everyone loves jutsu

Don't be ridiculous. I don't like Naruto cause he is a deep and emotional character with interesting personality and backstory...cause he's not. Well, kinda, but not to that extent.

Itachi, no. Sasuke is easily a better character than Itachi.
