OK so kaguya ate the fruit to gain power to stop the war we all know that. Possibly stop the war by enslaving everyone in IT. The tree as we all know got mad about his fruit getting jacked & terrorized the earth becoming the 10 tails. Before this kaguya had two boys, hagormaro & Hamura.
They weren't caught in the cycle of genius son & lacking son. It started with their sons. But before I get to that let's break down the doujutsu. Kaguya has the sharingan, byakugan, & rinnegan. These powers were pass to her children in this manner, hagomoro gained the sharingan & rinnegan & hamura the byakugan.
We know that for the rinnegan one usually has a strong body & sharingan to get it. Hagaromo gave his first soon the sharingan & second son the strong body. They names were indra & ashura. Indra clan became known as the uchiha while maintaining the sharingan, ashura clan became known as the senju while maintaining the strong body.
HAMARU, received from kaguya her byakugan & sealing jutsu & passed it down to his sons. There names are unknown for the moment but their clans became known as the hyuuga & uzamaki (distant cousin to the senju). Of course the hyuuga maintained the byakugan & the uzamaki maintained sealing jutsu.
Let's go back now that that is hopefully clear to everybody, kaguya fought & defeated the 10 tails because like I said she ate the fruit & the 10 tails wanted all the chakra back (which now that I think about it he should be considered a good guy, gets chakra back, the tail of naruto itself & the gruesome wars never happen...10 tails, you the real mvp.) But! Kaguya didn't kill him, she sealed him & became the first jinchuriki & went on to grow old as her sons were growing up also.
They watched there mom become evil (probably influenced by the 10 tails) & knew that it was wrong so they fought her (while she was an jinchurikki). While she was getting weaker from the fight with hagamora & hamura the 10 tails saw a chance to escape. Just like how kuramu tried to escape when the seal on naruto was the weakest.* They kill her but not before she forms a plan for her will to live on.
Now the 10 tails is having his second appearance. The brothers fight the 10 tails. The battle ends with the death of hamura with some sealing jutsu that probably resembles the reaper death seal. I know you're thinking that Hagaromo sealed the 10 tails but lets say stories get exaggerated over time or maybe it was a dou jutsu to equal up to kaguya sealing jutsus strength... Maybe maybe not. Maybe hamura sealed half the 10 tails in him & half the 10 tails in hagamora, or divided it some other way either way the 10 tails had no chakra in the end & became the gedo mazou. I'm almost sure one of these happened. We know from my second favorite character minato that with the reaper death seal you can definitely split chakra also. Anyway after the death of his brother Hagaromo divided the chakra in to 9 different beasts as a precaution for something I can't remember.
S/n I get my theories from other members ideas & come up with them so I'm not saying this is all true, just the collaboration of my fellow members ideas. Hopefully someone will collect information from this & find out what really happened. Also sorry no pics, I'm at work & on my phone. As if it matters cause I don't know how to anyway -__-
